Resources and Education Coordinator, Patricia Jula,
can assist adults aged 50 and above or their family
members with information
on a variety of community resources such as: subsidized apartment living
and other housing options,
home health services, meals on wheels & adult day services, local
subsidized transportation services, information on nursing
homes and other care facilities, information
on Food Stamps, Medical Assistance, Supplemental Security Income and
other
government benefits programs. She
can also assist with completing applications for some government entitlement
programs
and benefits such as the PACE & PACENET prescription drug program,
the Pennsylvania Rent and Property Tax rebate
program, Farmers' Market vouchers and more.

Every Tuesday morning from 9:30
AM to 11:30 AM
a trained health insurance counselor is available to assist you with
problems and/or questions you may have about your health insurance,
health insurance claims, your appeal rights and
procedures for denied medical coverage, prescription drug coverage or
related issues.

Tax Aide Assistance
From
February through mid April trained volunteers assist low to moderate
income older adults with income tax preparation assistance by appointment.

the fourth Tuesday of every month John T. Dooley, Esquire, provides
free legal counseling to older adults at
The PEAK Center beginning at 12:00 noon.

55 Alive Safe Driving Classes
The
PEAK Center
regularly hosts these classroom safe driving classes which upon completion
will often give you a reduction
in your car insurance costs. The cost of these classes is $10.00. Call the center for information on the times
and dates for

Senior
Transportation
All persons, aged 65 years of age or above (or 60 years or older if you
are disabled) must be registered with Transnet
to be eligible for (Free) van rides to The PEAK Center or to get discounted
(15% of the set zone fare) taxi rides to other locations such as shopping,
doctors offices, etc. The
PEAK
Center has applications for
this discounted transportation service. Proof of age is required.
